- 2 cups thickly grated carrot
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 cup low fat milk
- 1/4 cup deseeded and chopped dates (khajur)
- 1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
Method for low fat carrot halwa
To make low-fat carrot halwa, heat the ghee in a pressure cooker, add the carrots and saute on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
Add ¾ cup of milk and dates, mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
Add the remaining ¼ cup of milk and cardamom powder, mix well and cook on medium flame for 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Serve the low-fat carrot halwa hot.
